New amazing exhibit of Ansel Adams photography from the Library of Congress at Suffering under a Great Injustice. The exhibit is a photoessay by the master himself on Japanese American internment camps during World War 2.

Make a night of it by visiting Lost Labor. (originally blogged about this one here).

Kunstler’s site has some great articles. He has an appreciation for architecture and space that is refreshing. His eyesore of the month is hilarious. Pour yourself a glass of wine and spend a few hours with him….

Lost Labour…

There is a fascinating new online exhibition over at LostLabor that details lost industries and how people used to work in them.
It accomplishes this interesting goal through photographs and posters from years past. Browsing through this exhibit gives the feeling of walking back in time when barrelmaking and icehouses were the norm.
There are images from early in the 20th century like asbestos plants and china plants.
It is interesting to speculate what 50 years from now a similar exhibit would show. Perhaps teeming masses tied to their keyboards typing away eagerly looking forward to their payday. The artist Raymon Elozua recalls his own time in a steel mill in the south side of chicago and how the surroundings have decayed in the intervening 50 years.
Its an amazing exhibit, enjoy it.
