One of the things that make New York city such a magical place to live is that there is constantly stuff like this going on.

Robert Knoth has an incredible photographic study of the effects of radiatition in the former Soviet Union. Its called Nuclear Nightmares: Twenty Years Since Chernobyl after the fact. It is fascinating, disturbing, and important. You won’t be disappointed and you will be moved.
