The Apple rumors are true, read about ithere
The world just changed. There are going to be far ranging ramifications, hopefully there will rise a re-invigorated desktop application market.
The battle between Microsoft and Apple is going to heat up anew. Apple, flush with cash from the ipod, will probably go after Office next. Interesting given Microsoft’s announcement that the Office file formats are moving to XML.
And what does this all mean for Longhorn, the successor to the Windows 2000/XP architecture. The world just got very very interesitng indeed….

The big question is will you go out and buy a new x86 Mac when it comes out???
If they are going to do something as drastic as change their chip architecture, why not go with something more advanced like a Xeon, or an Athlon 64. These would be much better choices than the x86, a product that seems to be nearing the end of the line. To me it would be like Porsche announcing that they are going to switch to Hyundai engines….
I will absolutely buy one as soon as they are available.
Think of the boatloads of money Apple could make if it sold a PCI based firmware card that would allow me to run Mac OSX on my beige no-name intel box…
